Knivis Community

Why did I use ColdFusion for Knivis: The biggest reason is simple I’m proficient with ColdFusion after 13 years of working with it. I remember back in 1995 I started to work with PHP (Personal Home Page) I created some nice sites for the time with it but they were taking too long. Then a friend told me about ColdFusion and I loved it. Creating sites with ColdFusion was 10 times faster for me. But this is not the only reason I used ColdFusion it was the best fit for creating an extensible infrastructure. The infrastructure I created allows the basic Knivis users to create simple content extensions and the advanced knivis/ColdFusion developers to make complete applications / modules in Knivis. There is a complete Online ColdFusion editor in Knivis now. I can not think of any other application environment that would let me create this but ColdFusion.

If ColdFusion were free, it would probably be much more popular than PHP. Some folks like to say one is better than the other, but that depends on the application, they both have the strengths and weaknesses.
