For some time now I have been looking for a way to administer IIS with ColdFusion. I have done numerous Web queries to find if anybody had already created CFCs to do this... l had no luck finding one.
So this weekend I sat down and created it myself utilizing CFexecute and IISWeb.vbs. I found it relatively easy to create the component I needed using the iisweb.vbs for IIS. I also for the first time created a project and put my code to open source for anyone to use.…

Customer retention marketing is a tactically-driven approach based on customer behavior. A good loyalty program may be the only sustainable competitive advantage in challenging economic times. It is speculated that the average company loses half of its customers every five years and it costs five to twelve times more to attain new customers versus retaining and building existing customer base.
A company can sustain customer loyalty if it identifies "loyalty drivers", which are a companies' key a…

Google News is currently one of the top five visited news portals in the world, reason enough to get your website exposed to Google News.

Why did I use ColdFusion for
Knivis: The biggest reason is simple I’m proficient with ColdFusion after 13 years of working with it. I remember back in 1995 I started to work with
PHP (Personal Home Page) I created some nice sites for the time with it but they were taking too long. Then a friend told me about ColdFusion and I loved it. Creating sites with ColdFusion was 10 times faster for me. But this is not the o…

With today’s technology, anyone can create a website but where these web developers fall short is optimizing the web page. Let’s face it, not everyone will be on a dedicated T1 line and the companies that do have a very high speed connection will usually be slower than a home user, due to the massive network traffic that the company faces every day. This is why the web developer must realize that optimizing a webpage is just as important as the design and functionality of the webpage. How many t…

Over the last three months I have been working on an e-commerce site for a Knivis Brand Owner. Yesterday the Brand Owner asked me what was the number one reason for e-commerce sites to fail. The question came about because his client was slow to get the catalog data for the site. I believe the number one reason is marketing or lack of it. Most small e-commerce site owners do not understand that if you build it they will not come. You need to market the site both web and traditional marketing. As…

To promote you have to stay on top of what is going on in the way of social networking via computing. You have to use the tools that are available. The way we do business today is different from the way it was done in the past and will continue to evolve. My band Blue Remedy has been part of on line contests and for Dave FM in Atlanta and Bonaroo. I spend time every day keeping up with my friends on My Space and our website. This will continue to change as the band gets more popular. The site wi…
